My Star Stitch Wallet

Image
These days I have been making different designs of wallet. The latest one was the star stitch designs. I did a few enhancements after publishing the tutorial on my YouTube channel. I replaced the pink button with the wooden Butterfly button.  I added a 10 x 6 x 1.5 mm D-ring and a 12 mm lobster clasp attached to a romanian strap. I replaced the snaps with these magnetic snaps. All you have to do is sew them using the yarns. You need to use a smaller needle though.  These handmade buttons are really great. All these items I bought on Shopee free shipping.  Here are my Shopee links just in case you would like to buy these items mentioned.  🧡Where to buy? 🧡 30 pcs Magnetic buttons  Buy here: https://shope.ee/3fPUDQZ9zk 100 pcs Alloy D rings size 10 x 6 x 1.5 mm Buy here: https://shope.ee/4pbRbt0ZYe 50 pcs Alloy lobster Clasps 12/14 mm Buy here: https://shope.ee/AJwOACfCAi 50 pcs Wooden Butterfly Buttons Buy here: https://shope.ee/5AEI0pdcau 100 pcs Handmade Wooden Buttons Buy here: ht

How to Crochet a Unity Bucket Hat

Image
Hello everyone, it's been a long time since I have written down a pattern. I love this design. Let me tell you a little story about this interlocking circles I found on pinterest. I was supposed to make one until I have been reminded by a couple of my fellow crocheters on Kumu. It's nice being able to get inspired by others. The moment I set my eyes on this interlocking circles, I have been thinking about different ideas in which I can make use of these ones. I even made a bucket bag using Rayon. I will write about it in my next blog. I am happy to share with you this awesome project. For this project, I will be using Ogo Yarn Colorama Overboard 180 grams.  5.5 mm crochet hook. I used a smaller hook because I am a lose crocheter. It may be slightly bigger if you use 6 mm. You will need some scissors and yarn needles for weaving in the ends. If you dont have an O'go yarn, you may use any bulky yarn #5 to be able to have the same size of project as mine.  Round 1: Make a magi

How to Price Your Handmades

Image
There are some debates about pricing handmades among our fellow crocheters in the Philippines. Some are mad that others are selling at a very low price. Some say they don't know the value of their hard work. Some are mad that others are selling at a very high price. They say that they are pricing their handmades too much. What exactly is the formula for pricing handmades? That's a difficult question to answer but let me break down all the things we need to consider when pricing your precious crocheted/knitted items. Let me ask you questions: What are your expertise? In which project are you good at? Is it enough to show people how good you are? Or are you confident enough to make one? If yes, how much money are you willing to invest in this business of doing handmades?          Materials you need to buy-Are the Yarns affordable or the premium Yarns-the high quality ones?          Labor cost: How much work can you give that values your hardwork? Who are your target buy

Plastic Canvas Elegant Bag

Image
I have been taking a vacation lately from cricething and I happen to check what's trending these days and guess what? I have seen some plastic canvas that are being used to make this kind of bag. If you are looking for a project that does not need some Crocheting skills, you can do this. It's very easy to make. You can do this project with your kids. All you need is a needle and some yarns.. Some hardware locks, chain Straps and some D rings.  The materials used in this project are not very expensive. It may cost you less that $10 especially if you already have yarns and other materials. To make this one, you need to weave the yarn using a yarn needle into the squares of the plastic canvas.  The size of the plastic canvas I used is 50 x 33 cm. I cut out the plastic canvas to have 1 56 x 31 grid and 2 pieces of 16x 6 grid.  Anyways, if you would like me to show you how it is done.. Please watch this video. How to Crochet the Chevron Stitch Purse

Image
For this project you may use any yarn of your choice. You should make a swatch first to check if the hook you are using is perfect for the yarn.  The Chevron stitch is done in rows of single crochets in  back loop only. It's in multiples of 13. Once you have chained 13 many times, then add 2 chains at the end.  Row 1: On the second chain from hook, work 2 SC. 1 SC into each of the next 5 chains. *Skip 2 chains. 1 SC into each of the next 5 chains. 3 SC into the next chain. 1 SC into each of the next 5 chains.* Repeat * until you finish the row. When you reach the last chain, work 2 SC. Row 2: Chain 1 and turn. 2 SC into the first stitch. 1 SC into each of the next 5 stitches. *Skip 2 stitches. 1 SC into each of the next 5 stitches. 3 SC into the next stitch. 1 SC into each of the next 5 stitches. * REPEAT * UNTIL the end of row. When you get to the last stitch, work 2 SC. Row 3: Repeat Row 2 until you get to the height you want.  This stitch is perfect for making blankets, scarves

It's been a challenging journey for me as a Crocheter of almost 6 years. When I first uploaded a video on how to make the Moroccan Tile Stitch Purse, which happened to be the first design I have made.  I remember Ate Remy who is a good friend and my sister-in-law's aunt. She bought many purses using the design I posted on Facebook. It was a Sunday. It was actually a gloomy Sunday for me. I was broke that time and almost giving up on YouTube. I actually uploaded a few tutorials in which I think did not seem to be great if not good. Most of them (the videos)are done without too much effort or should I say I did not have enough experience in editing or marketing.  So Ate Remy ordered about 100 pieces of these purses and then I thought of why not making a tutorial since I will be making them 100 times in different colors..  I was asked to make some more designs and so I did it. Believe or not, I almost thought I wouldn't be able to finish. This is also working but I am my own
